Farm to Table Hotel /Champaign

The Farm to Table Hotel brings the Midwest culture of farming to the downtown setting of Champaign, IL. The design of this boutique hotel is to create a connection between the locals, visitors, and local farmers. There is a farmers market located on the ground floor of the hotel that opens up to the main street, Neil St, in Champaign. Above the farmers market is a farm to table style restaurant. The restaurant uses produce grown on the green roof of the hotel along with produce purchased from local farmers.

The 8 story silo on the southwest corner of the building acts as a stairwell as well as an intensive greenhouse farming unit and fish tank. The fish tank helps to provide cooling for the building along with fertilizer for the gardens. The intensive greenhouse units help provide produce for the restaurant and farmers market. The farm to table aspects of this hotel create not only a unique place to stay but also help to make this sustainable hotel an inviting place for visitors and the community of Champaign .
